My local grocer that I love shopping at! Sometimes I wish they had a wider variety but It’s always where I go for meat/produce and they’re prices are pretty good too
I very much like this Food Fare location, and have been shopping here for years.
This is more of a suggestion than an outright complaint as it happens very infrequently.
I know it takes extra time to properly shave deli meat, but to spend 20$ on sandwich meat and then get home to see that it is mostly sliced vs shaved is not great.
Again, I do get that it is a pain, but it would be appreciated to have things cut as requested.
I witnessed one of the men from the meat cutting counter make fun of one of the girls after she spoke over the intercom and all 4 to 5 of them laughed.
If this behavior is what the store is about I will no longer be purchasing anything from here.
Thank you for bringing the bus to our building so we seniors can shop. James did a wonderful job help people getting on and off the bus today.

Kind and helpful staff, great prices and variety. My go-to grocery store.

We really like supporting local and often come here for good deals. However the last visit was a little disappointing as we ordered 7 steaks for a dinner party and paid for 7 but found out we only got 6. By the time we found out we were already 2.5 hours from Winnipeg at the cottage, so we hoped we could get this resolved during our next visit, however unfortunately the grocery store said there was nothing they could do for us as we didn’t have the receipt and the photo does not tell them more information. Cashiers and staff are friendly. Next time hopefully it does not happen again.
This place is a local favorite. Really enjoy the options. It’s the right size where you find everything you need easily. All the employees have been here for a long time. It’s got a great community feel. I usually don’t do my main shop here since I’m usually picking my kids up from school and walking home. I frequently get the breads and veggies and protein here. Great place to buy deli meat and hotdogs too. Also occasionally pick up clay over Biranyi or the samosas.
Good old fashioned customer service that is considerate, courteous and kind from the manager, clerks and delivery person. Placed a large meat order which they price matched with one of the larger grocery store chains. They packaged it to size in vacuum sealed bags, froze them for us and delivered to our location right on time! I don’t live in the neighborhood but I will take my large order business here going forward. Beats Costco any day!
Price gouging on the sugar is not cool. I understand a slight mark-up comparable to Shoppers Drug Mart or such but when you are selling your 10kg bag of sugar for $27 and 2kg for $7 that’s just plain crooked. Shame on you. I fail to see how a price that is 2x the going rate is “helping your community”. Other FoodFare locations have reasonable prices of 2kg for 4.99. Why is the lilac location doing this.
Luckily I returned this asinine price point. Cashier was nice.

The Hidden Gem that is the Cornerstone of Our Community!
Review:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
In the heart of our neighborhood stands a remarkable establishment that deserves every bit of praise it gets – our very own local grocery store. This charming little market has not only won my heart but has become the cornerstone for our community's daily needs.
From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel like part of the family. The store may be small in size, but it's enormous in character and choice. The shelves are thoughtfully stocked with a wide selection of goods, ranging from staple pantry items to exotic ingredients that are hard to find elsewhere.
The produce section deserves a special mention, as it showcases a vibrant array of fruits and vegetables that are always fresh and often locally sourced. It's a true testament to the store's commitment to supporting local farmers and providing customers with the best quality goods.
One of the most impressive aspects of this grocery store is the exceptional customer service. The staff here go above and beyond to ensure that every shopping experience is a delightful one. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help you find what you're looking for or recommend new products that might suit your taste.
But this store isn't just about great products and friendly faces; it's also about convenience. The layout is intuitive, making it easy to navigate the aisles and find what you need quickly. And if you're ever in a rush, their checkout process is swift and efficient, ensuring you're in and out in no time.
The deli counter is a hidden gem within this treasure trove, offering an assortment of fine cheeses, cold cuts, and ready-to-eat meals prepared daily. The aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries from the in-house bakery is simply irresistible and has become a staple for my weekend mornings.
Furthermore, the store is incredibly community-oriented. They often host events and support local causes, reinforcing the sense of togetherness that makes our neighborhood special.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a grocery store that offers quality products, personalized service, and a sense of community, look no further. This small grocery store is a five-star experience in every sense. It's not just a place to shop; it's a place that enriches our community and makes life a little bit better with each visit.

Great place as a convenience store. All you need to buy you can find here. I even bought phyllo pastry!
The store is outrageously overpriced, and for that high price tag you get your selection of moldy, damaged, or out of date food. Sale prices are just a suggestion here it seems as well and so is giving you your change. Just drive, bus, or walk to any of the bigger name stores and save your money not only on the bill but also on all the food you would throw out from here
Today didnt have 4 items i wanted...
Rubbarb pie, cold gatorade, cold tonic water and canned heart of palm. This store not as well stocked as used to be.
Always smells like rotten meat. Bought a pork tenderloin there today and the smell damn near killed me. I won’t be buying meat here again. Disgusting
I enjoy shopping there. The owner and all the staff are so nice and kind. They actually care and treat you like family.
They are involved in the community and support programs for children in the neighbourhood as well. The store is clean. The prices are a little higher than I'd like for certain things like fresh produce and household products but its a smaller store and therefore understandable.

Sale items are rung up at regular prices at the check out. Be aware of your total before you pay. It's a common occurrence. Also, be aware common staples are marked up 20 to 30 % above market value. Coffee or butter for example. I want to support local grocery stores but their business practices are questionable.
Price not marching inside the store, manager is young guy said he can not do anything
Not only do they abuse people they suspect of shoplifting.
But the human waste that owns this place will lie to the government in order to avoid pay in lieu. Low quality person.
EDIT: only took a year and a few days but this low class employer finally paid me. Clearly someone should be educated in Canadian Values.
Fresh selection of produce, great rotisserie chicken in the deli.
Staff as always, super friendly
Thank you, Zeid family, for your generous donation of clothing. Happy holidays to all of you.

For a tiny little grocery store they for sure pack a lot of choice and value for the customer. I do not buy my meat anywhere else. It's fresh, not prepackaged and weighed down with water to increase the price.
The staff here are very friendly. I recently visited this store for Soup bones. It was a busy Saturday afternoon. I was served in a very timely manner, considering how busy they were.
I’m so glad I came here because they had exactly what I was looking for.
I only been here a few times over the years. Each time has been a pleasant experience.
This store’s location is not convenient for me, but I’m gonna make an effort to come here more often.
This a wonderful little family run grocery store.
SPOILED MEAT? I was shocked too. Been shopping here for a decade and this is the second time in 6 months I bought meat that had large smelly brown areas on the UNDERSIDE of the meat. Yesterday it happened with pork bought that day, and date stamped the day before. Took it back and got a refund with a very perfunctionary "sorry" as the meat woman was walking away. VERY unimpressive. Last time it was a beef steak that I just threw out. Used to be well run meat department but now...not at all sure. Need to sharpen their hygiene training. Who wants spoiled meat?
I purchased 2 items from the Silver Heights Food Fare that were on sale for 4.99. The cashier scanned them in for 6.99. I then showed them the sale price at which time they corrected the price. I also reminded them of the Scanner Code of Practice and they said they did not participate. This is a shady store as they have a pattern of scanning sale items for full price. Avoid and shop elsewhere.
Food fare really needs to learn that the back lane is not just for them. Every day same story there delivery driver leaves the truck like this in the middle. There staff is rude and now this too
