German Society of Winnipeg/Schnitzel Haus
We weren't planning on visiting the Schnitzel Haus but rather the downstairs restaurant for Taco Week.
The parking is in the back of the building and there was ample room to park when we went 7pm on a Friday night.
Once you enter in the back of the building there is a staircase. You go up the staircase and the restaurant is on the left, the washrooms are on the right.
They have a good selection of beer and a decent menu.
The staff was friendly and attentive.
We had the Chicken Schnitzel which came with red cabbage and spatzle. We also had the Bratwurst which also had the cabbage and spatzle. We also tried the hand cut veggies with butter and caraway seeds.
The Schnitzel was cooked perfect and was juicy and tender. The Jäger sauce had a delicious mushroom and bacon flavour. The Bratwurst tasted great, both tender and juicy.
Overall it's a great place with tons of character.

Nice evening out in Winnipeg. Great menu - reminds me of all the good foods we had at Oktoberfest in München a few years ago. Bratwurst was perfectly done on a bed of sauerkraut. The spatzle was very good - interesting flavours. We shared a plate of handcut veggies with butter and caraway seeds on top - was very nice. We also had the chicken schnitzel- very nice with the bacon and mushroom sauce.
The radler with raspberry flavouring was excellent - would totally recommend this.
Nice decor and ambiance in this restaurant - its upstairs in the German society of Winnipeg - entrance is at the back of the building.

Fantastic food including schnitzel, spaetzle, bratwurst, red cabbage and assorted tortes. Very welcoming, friendly staff and the entertainment at Folklorama 50 was fun, including traditional and contemporary music by the band and dancers.

Amazing doesn't do it justice. For 22 dollars you get enough food to feed 2 people, all of it made fresh and extremely delicious. It's like eating home cooking except you're really in a restaurant.

Warm and friendly people with great food for Folklorama.
Our rental halls accommodates 30 to 337 guests and we can also provide banquet services with German or Canadian dinners. Our facilities provide a very unique central European atmosphere. We have a large parking facility which is included in the rental fees.
