We had or social here and could not have been more impressed. The staff was fantastic and took so much off our plate by providing the DJ, bartenders, front entrance staff and even mix and cups/shot glasses. As soon as it ended their team started cleaning and did 90% of it for us. Couldn’t say more positive things about Patrick and his team!

My fiancé and I had our social at Norwood Community Centre back in February and it couldn’t have gone better because of them!
The staff was very attentive and ensured that our schedule ran on time. It was extremely helpful because of how busy we were and they took the time to find us in the huge crowd we had. I felt confident knowing their staff was handling the bar and checking IDs so that we kept to Liquor and Lottery guidelines.
Our dj, Patrick, did a phenomenal job at keeping the dance floor lively and FULL from 8:30pm (we opened at 8:00pm) all the way till 1:00am when we had to have guests leave! I had so many of our attendees mention how amazing the dj and music was, and we had 300 people show up so I was bombarded by compliments.
I would 10000% have another social, but only at Norwood Community. The pricing package that they offer is an amazing deal and I couldn’t recommend them more!

We recently had our wedding social at Norwood CC. Norwood was the most expensive venue we looked at. We chose it because of the larger capacity, central location, good parking, and the bartenders and DJ service were included, improving the value and decreasing the number of tasks we had to do.
Barry was excellent from the time we booked last summer through the day of the social. He provided helpful planning documents and was very quick to reply to any questions we had leading up to the social.
We have nothing but good things to say about the venue itself. We rented both halls, and having the additional quieter hall away from the dance floor turned out to be great as it gave our older/non-partying crowd a quieter area to hang out and talk. We also liked that the prize/raffle area was in a separate room away from the dance floor/bar. It was quieter and better lit so people could see and talk about the prizes more easily.
The event manager Patrick was on site through the evening and you can tell he has run socials for a long time. He was pretty serious, but active in overseeing everything to make sure the event was running smoothly and was supporting the staff. He came across as the type of person who you know can handle an issue if it comes up.
The staff here is really excellent. We have to give a shout out to Tallis (we may have spelled that wrong) who was extremely helpful during the afternoon set up and the event. He was truly a star. He and the staff handled all the table setup/tear down and cleaned up at the end of the night (the end-of-night cleanup was kind and unexpected as we were prepared to do that.)
We appreciated the projection of our regular prize ticket winners on the DJ screen. We would have been there well past 1 a.m. if we had to stand there and draw all the winners.
Overall, we’d recommend Norwood for anyone looking to hold a social.

The Norwood Community Centre was a great experience for hall rental. The space was accessible to us when we needed access for the sake of measurements and getting information. The hall staff were friendly and helpful all throughout our interactions with them. During the night of our reception the bar staff made sure that we had everything on hand in case the MLC showed up to check on things. They were also happy to help in anyway they could. Beyond that the hall had everything you could expect to find in a community centre and more. Clean washrooms, accessible facilities, a decent sized parking lot, and the wedding package was brilliant!

Not a good place to bring your kids!! Director and higher staff very un professional and lazy and it’s like they like to mistreat their own staff and children as well as make lies about the parents and rumours!! Be very aware of this place!!
The Norwood Community Center is air conditioned and wheelchair accessible. It has 2 halls for rent, a large hall with a capacity of 255 and a smaller one for 155 people. Total capacity is 413 if both halls are rented together.
