We went to the Scandinavian pavilion for Folklorama. We booked tickets online so we would be assured of a seat. The venue was small, but not too crowded. The food and drinks were excellent. The show was entertaining with music and dance. The cultural displays upstairs were interesting. Very friendly volunteers!
The people were open friendly and I love the food they presented for Folklorama.
Unbeknownst to many, they serve a buffet every Sunday from 10:30-1. For $20 all in (tax included in that price) you get a varied spread of local and cultural specific foods based on the region chosen that Sunday.
Staff are volunteers and service is very friendly. The gentleman serving coffee did not let my cup go empty!
The dessert table was also plentiful and did not leave me wanting.

This fully accessible cultural centre boasts many activities, cultural events and learning opportunities (stitching, knitting, language classes) from the 5 Scandinavian states - Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Sweden and Norway. The annual Christmas Market is an excellent opportunity to buy crafts, true ethnic baked goods and more. The excellent dining room offers Friday lunch and Sunday brunch. Be sure to try the soups, open faced sandwiches and yummy desserts along with your favourite beverage. Well worth a trip.
Also known as the “Nordic House of Canada”, the S.C.C. is the home of Scandinavian culture in Winnipeg. We are a volunteer-driven organization, with members joining clubs of the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
